Bruce Frey is Vice President – Construction for Hines, a global real estate services company that is currently developing the Porta Nuova area adjacent to the Porta Garibaldi Station in Milan. Porta Nuova consists of three unique mixed use projects; Garibaldi, Varesine and Isola, each with a different combination of office, residential, retail and amenities.
After graduating from Purdue University, Bruce worked for a large American construction company for seven years before joining Hines in 1979. After working on many large scale (typically high rise) projects across the USA, he moved to Barcelona in 1996 to help open Hines España office and to build the Diagonal Mar mixed use development, winner of the inaugural Urban Land Institute European Award for Excellence.
As penance for enjoying seven years in Barcelona, Bruce spent three years in Moscow starting an office building project there before moving to Milan in 2005.
