David Delfini

Head of Business Development, Volareweb

David Delfini has consolidated his business experience in the aviation business. After a number of years in financial controlling with Schlumberger and as a broker in the equity derivatives market, Mr Delfini joined Alitalia in late 1999 and was employed directly in the Alitalia-KLM joint venture in network and fleet planning.

After the end of the joint venture between the two companies, Mr. Delfini went on to work first in intercontinental network planning, where he introduced a series of changes to the long haul product of the company and then moved on to Strategic Marketing.

After heading the Business Intelligence unit of Alitalia, Mr Delfini moved to the low cost carrier recently purchased by Alitalia, Volareweb, and was tasked with the objective to introduce and drive change in the company in preparing it for its launch in 2008. Today, as Head of Business Development, Mr Delfini leads key negotiations with airports and other strategic partners.

Mr. Delfini holds a degree from the University of Toronto in Economic History and an MBA from SDA Bocconi University in Milan.

David will provide a personal overview on the Alitalia situation.
