Deborah Ball has been a journalist for 16 years, eight of them in
Italy. From 1994 until 1997 she worked at Dow Jones Newswires, both in
Milan and Rome, where she covered Italian business, politics, and
finance.
Since 1997 she has been a reporter with the Wall Street Journal and was the Milan correspondent for the paper between 1997 and 2002, covering Italian business as well as European luxury goods. Between 2002 and 2007, she covered European food and beverage companies from London. She is currently the WSJ’s Switzerland correspondent from Zurich.
In February, she published House of Versace: The Untold Story of Genius, Murder and Survival (Random House), the first English-language biography of the Versace family and fashion house.
