Roberto BonzioRoberto Bonzio was born in Mestre, Venice and graduated with a degree in Arts from the Università Ca' Foscari in Venice. After reporting for years for Venice's Il Gazzettino and Milan's Il Giorno newspapers, Roberto spent a decade with Reuters in Milan, where he covered art, high-tech, innovation and the internet. His stories have been published in The Guardian, The Independent, The Washington Post and The New York Times.

Inspired by Italian expats in Silicon Valley, Roberto lived for several months in Palo Alto, California, where he launched Italiani di Frontiera (Frontier Italians), initially as a storytelling trip about the secrets of Italian talent as well as obstacles that impede Italian innovators in their home country. In 2011, Roberto left Reuters to devote his energies full-time to IDF, which now organizes live multimedia conferences and training seminars hosted by such institutions such as Ministero degli Esteri, Confindustria, Pirelli and IBM all over Italy as well as in Europe and the US. Through its website and social media channels, IDF connects thousands of entrepreneurs, managers and students all over the world.

Roberto also leads groups of entrepreneurs and managers in the Italiani di Frontiera Silicon Valley Tour. In April 2015, he published his book Italiani di frontiera. dal West al Web: un'avventura in Silicon Valley, (Italians on the Frontier - from the American West to the Web).
