Journalist Roberto Bonzio was born in Mestre, Venice and graduated with a degree in Arts from the Università Ca' Foscari in Venice. After reporting for years for Il Gazzettino and Il Giorno newspapers, Roberto joined Reuters in Milan in 2001, where he mainly covers the areas of Cinema and the Arts, High-Tech, Innovation and the Internet.
Roberto is also working on Italiani di Frontiera (Frontier Italians - rough translation), an ambitious personal multimedia project (website and conferences with a book and a web tv coming soon) focusing on entrepreneurial spirit of Italian expats in the USA. Yesterday in the American west, today in Silicon Valley – where he recently collected dozens of audio and video interviews.
Behind the scenes Roberto overcame his own obstacles – he obtained the notoriously hard to get US Visa and took a six month leave of absence from Reuters during which he and his family (wife and two teenage children) moved to Palo Alto, California. They all survived the experience, coming back to Italy safe and happy. Just with a small adrenaline overdose.
