Roger Abravanel
Roger Abravanel was born in Tripoli in 1946. He graduated from Milan's Politecnico University in engineering and received an MBA from Insead in Fontainebleau. He worked in McKinsey & Co. for 34 years as a consultant for Italian and multinational corporations in Europe, the United States and the Far East. In 2006 he left McKinsey and currently serves on the boards of directors of several companies and acts as an advisor to private equity funds in Italy and abroad.
He is the author of the best-selling books Meritocrazia: 4 proposte concrete per valorizzare il talento e rendere il nostro paese più ricco e più giusto (Meritocracy: Four Concrete Proposals to Give Greater Value to Talent and Bring More Wealth and Justice to our Society), Regole (Rules) together with Luca D'Agnese and Italia: Cresci o esci! (Italy: Up or out!), also with Luca D'Agnese, creator of the blog of the same name (www.meritocrazia.com) and speaker at numerous conferences and media events on the topic of meritocracy. He has also published numerous articles on Italian family capitalism, liberalization, and the service economy.
