Valter Lazzari

Valter Lazzari Dean of the Department of Economics at the Università Carlo Cattaneo – LIUC, Castellanza (VA).

He obtained his PhD in Economics at the University of Washington in Seattle in 1993, and then started teaching banking and finance at Bocconi University in Milan, earning tenure in 1998.

Associate Editor of the European Business Forum and previously associate editor of the Journal of Management and Governance, he contributes articles and interviews for The International Herald Tribune, Corriere della Sera, La Repubblica and Il Sole 24 Ore.

From 1995 until 2001 he was Coordinator of the PhD Program in Business Administration and Management at Università Bocconi.

In 1997 he was awarded the Research Prize of Università Bocconi.

In recent years he has focused his work on corporate governance, finance and strategy and on economics of securities market regulation. Among his publications: The value of corporate strategy and The Capital structure of small and medium enterprises in Italy.

He currently works as financial consultant for banks, insurance companies, investment companies and trade associations.

His presentation will be on: Global Economic Challenges and their impact on the Italian market.
